About Lucknow Metro Network

Lucknow Metro's Red Line is the backbone of public transport in the City of Nawabs. It connects the airport in the north to the eastern suburbs, passing through the main Railway Station (Charbagh) and the commercial hub of Hazratganj. The system uses BEML-built coaches and features fully air-conditioned, automated fare collection.

History & Evolution of Lucknow Metro Network

Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC), a joint venture of Government of India and UP Government, completed Phase 1 of the North-South corridor in record time. The section from Transport Nagar to Charbagh was inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in September 2017. The full Red Line from CCS Airport to Munshipulia became operational by 2019.
